Our Pastor since April 2005, Rev. Chaz Hutchison, has been on the ministerial staff since August 1990, originally coming to us as the Director of Christian Education.

 

Ordained by the Scotch Plains Baptist Church in April 1994, Pastor Chaz continues to be involved in the American Baptist Churches of New Jersey serving at various times on the Camps, Conferences and Retreats Committee, and currently serving on the Executive Committee of the ABCNJ Ministers Council, and as Treasurer for the Watchung Association.  Since 1992 Chaz has been the Session Director for Junior High Conference at Camp Lebanon.

 

In 1986 Pastor Chaz received his bachelor’s degree in Recreation from Alderson-Broaddus College, which is where he met his future bride Carol “CJ” Wright.  After their wedding in June of 1987, Chaz continued his education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating with a Master of Arts in Religious Education in 1990.
